Embroidery Projects

As a housewife or simply a woman of many talents, there are many interesting embroidery projects that you can embark upon within your own home for either personal gains or for profits. Within the house, you can create your own summer or holiday project to enhance and personalize the décor of your home at very economic prices.

Take a look around the house for yourself and you will find endless possibilities and opportunities to utilize embroidery projects.  From curtains to sofa accessories to kitchen and even bathroom accessories; everything and anything can all be designed and modified to your liking when you make and decorate them yourself.  Even purely decorative items can be added to your collections as part of your embroidery project.

I recently went to a friend’s house and was amazed to see the beautiful cushion covers and sofa pillows that she had made herself.  All she needed as a few pieces of cheap or old cloth, some embroidery thread and a needle, and her own creativity, and she ended up with some of the prettiest cushions you have ever seen.  And these were that professionally done that I am convinced should she pursue this that she could become quite successful at it.  And this started out as simply an embroidery project to pass the time while she was on vacation!

Anyone at all can make this their reality.  Even your aged living room sofa and drab dining room sets can be very cheaply livened up by incorporating them into your list of summer projects to get done.  This can be your own embroidery project!  You can start by buying simple plain material and sewing them together yourself.  Then you can proceed to decorate these by using the various embroidery stitches learnt long ago from your grandmother to create specific patterns or just random designs to highlight the material.

Your embroidery project does not have to be limited to purely decorative items however.  You can also try your hand at some old worn out t-shirts and dress-shirts.  Take these and try using a gold thread to stitch some border designs around the collar and neckline.  You will be amazed at the transformations!

It is a nice combination also to utilize appliqué designs within your embroidery projects if you find that you do not have as much time to spend on these as you would have thought or liked.  Appliqué embroidery is a quick and easy way to create patterns and designs on your decorative items and have them look just as classy as historic work!
